Heavy-Duty Commercial Power Rack - GymKing GK-9800
The GymKing GK-9800 Commercial Power Cage is a four-post steel frame built so you can train heavy on your own. Safety spotter bars catch a failed lift, J-hooks hold the barbell at your set height, and a multi-grip chin-up bar runs across the top for pulling work. It is made for commercial gyms, garage gyms and PT studios that want one station to handle squats, bench press, overhead press, rack pulls and pull-ups.
Load the bar, set your safeties to the right height, and lift to failure without a spotter standing by. The numbered hole pattern lets you match J-hook and safety heights exactly every session, and weight storage pegs keep your plates on the frame and the floor clear.
A cage is the frame, not the load, so add a bench and a barbell to build a complete strength station. Pair one with our weight benches to finish the setup.

Why it works
If you train heavy by yourself, a power cage wins. A squat rack or a pair of stands holds the bar for you, but it gives you nothing if a rep fails halfway up. A cage surrounds you on four posts with safety bars set just below your sticking point, so a missed squat or bench press lands on steel instead of on you. That safety net is the whole reason to choose a cage, and it is why most commercial rooms run cages rather than open stands.
You also get more in one footprint. Squats and presses inside the frame, pull-ups off the top bar, rack pulls and pin presses at any height, and plate storage on the pegs. For a home gym that often replaces three or four separate pieces, adding a bench turns it into a complete strength station.

FAQs
What is the difference between a power cage and a power rack?
The terms are used for the same thing. A power cage (also called a power rack) is a four-post steel frame with adjustable J-hooks and safety bars that surround the lifter. Some sellers use a power rack for two-post or half-rack designs, but a full cage has four uprights and full safety coverage on both sides.
Can I bench press inside the power cage?
Yes. Place a flat or adjustable bench inside the frame, set the J-hooks at your unrack height and the safety bars just above your chest. If you miss a press, the bar lands on the safeties rather than on you. This is the safest way to bench heavy without a spotter.
How much weight can the GK-9800 hold?
A commercial cage is built to take far more than most lifters will load, but always check the published rating against your top working weights, and never exceed it.
Do I need to bolt the cage to the floor?
Most commercial power cages are stable, freestanding for normal lifting, but bolting down adds security for kipping pull-ups, banded work and very heavy rack pulls. Check the supplied instructions for the GK-9800's recommendation, and bolt down if your training involves dynamic pulling on the top bar.
Does it come with a barbell and weights?
No. The cage is the frame only. You will need an Olympic barbell and plates to train. Bumper plates are a good match because you can drop a failed lift onto the safeties without harming the floor or bar. See our bumper plates and Olympic barbells to finish the setup.
Can I really train alone safely in a power cage?
Yes, that is the point of a cage. With the safety bars set at the right height, a failed squat or bench rep is caught by the frame, so you can push close to your limit without a partner. Set the safeties at the start of every working set, before you are fatigued.
