Athletic 1200EFP Programmable Magnetic Front Drive Elliptical Cross Trainer
The Athletic 1200EFP is a light commercial front drive elliptical cross trainer that gives you a full-body, zero-impact workout at home. The front drive design creates a natural, gliding stride that many people describe as running on air, with no pounding through your ankles, knees or hips. Push and pull the moving handlebars to work your arms, chest and back at the same time as your legs.
Motorised magnetic resistance gives you 16 smooth, quiet levels, and 21 built-in programs, including heart rate control, keep every session interesting. Dual rollers with precision bearings add strength and stability, and oversized non-slip foot plates suit all foot sizes.
Motorised magnetic resistance: smooth, quiet, low maintenance
Resistance changes at the touch of a button. A small motor moves a magnet closer to or further from the flywheel, and the programs do it for you automatically. The magnet never touches the flywheel, so there are no friction pads to wear down, the motion stays smooth and quiet, and there is very little to maintain.

Elliptical or exercise bike?
An elliptical works your upper and lower body together and keeps you on your feet, so it feels closer to walking or running. An exercise bike is seated and focuses on your legs. If you would rather sit, see the Athletic 1200 Upright Bike or Athletic 1200 Recumbent Bike, which share the same 16 levels and 21 programs.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a front drive elliptical?
On a front drive elliptical, the flywheel sits at the front of the machine. This gives a smooth, slightly inclined stride that feels similar to walking or running uphill, and it keeps the machine compact. Front drive models are typically more affordable than centre drive models.
Is an elliptical low impact?
Yes. Your feet stay on the foot plates the whole time, so there is no landing impact like there is with running. That makes an elliptical a popular choice for people with sore knees, hips or ankles.
What is the maximum user weight?
130kg. If you need a higher rating, call us on 07 5479 2688 and we will recommend a heavier-duty cross trainer.
How much space and ceiling height do I need?
Assembled, it measures 160cm long, 63cm wide and 166cm high. Because the foot plates raise you off the floor, check that your ceiling allows comfortable headroom at the top of the stride.
What type of resistance does it use?
Motorised magnetic resistance. A small motor inside the cross trainer moves a magnet closer to or further from the flywheel when you press the buttons or a program changes level. The magnet never touches the flywheel, so the motion is smooth and quiet and there are no friction pads to wear out.
Does it need to be plugged in?
Yes. The console and resistance motor run from the supplied power adaptor, so place it near a standard power point.
What warranty does it have?
3 years on the motor, parts and electronics, and 12 months labour, on top of your Australian Consumer Law guarantees.
Does it need assembly?
Some assembly is needed. It arrives in a single 65kg carton measuring 105cm × 38cm × 73cm, so plan for two people to carry it in.
